❄ Sledding- Centennial Park

I’ve heard that this is THE place to sled. I had high hopes, but left wondering what all the fuss is about.
I can see why it should be great, maybe there was something wrong with the tracks when we went, but it was like sledding down a very large, fast, and dangerous egg carton.
There are two sections of hill divided into mad-made tracks. Seven or eight in total. We tried (or rather the older one and his dad tried) almost all of them, and they were all like moguls. And I’m not exaggerating.  2 and 3 foot holes, one after the other, the whole way down the tracks.
I did one run with the little guy, who of course loved it, while I said some bad words in my head. Very, VERY not toddler/baby friendly. Actually, not even big kid or adult friendly. I’m not sure if they did this to the tracks on purpose, maybe to slow people down(?), but it’s just dangerous. Kids and adults were getting some serious air, with 250 pound adults almost landing on their toddlers.
Many parents were bailing out and bringing the little ones to the little slope closer to the lake at the bottom of the runs.
I don’t think we’ll be coming back this winter.
We did however enjoy the walk from the parking lot past the chalet and along the lake. And were even able to play in the playground as the snow was all packed down.
