Ashgrove Park

A funny little park, in a funny little spot, totally invisible from the road. I wonder if it’s mostly for the residents of the surrounding apartments, though it is definitely a city of Pointe Claire park. Access is from the end of Ashgrove, behind the apartments, or from a small path on Belmont (West of Coolbreeze).

There is a fully fenced and gated toddler park with a wood chip base. No climber in this section, but there are two baby swings, a seesaw from Kompan, and a saddle spinner. The “big-kid” park next door is…strange. Though we usually LOVE the Kompan climbers, the Peak structure is very, very small and basically impossible to access except for the most agile kids. There’s a vertical climbing wall, a couple of metal rungs, and two parallel bars to slide back down. Besides the climber, there are just two swings in the surrounding wood chips.

So, it’s a rather teensy park that I wouldn’t go out of my way for, BUT if I lived in the apartments nearby I’d be pretty happy to have somewhere safe to let the kids loose.
