Bastien-Lavigne Park

The littlest one and I were on an Ile Bizard park blitz, and after five parks we had yet to find one with a safe and toddler-friendly climber.
We were going to give up and go home (it was also chilly outside), when we (I) said “Let’s do ONE more! We can do it!”
And finally, we found a playground that was geared pretty much just to little ones.

This is a tiny park, tucked in between some houses, but it was just the right size for him, AND at the back we found a path that led to the nature trails and Parc-nature du Bois-de-l’Île-Bizard . While this is just a little homemade path, it connects to the stroller-friendly main path. OR, you can park a couple of streets down and enter the nature park from there.

The climber from GameTime has stairs (Hallelujah!), a couple of slides, a hard-to-climb-up tunnel (for both him AND me), a little platform to walk around with an opening to a metal ladder, a mountain wall to scale, dinosaur fossil (“DINOSAUW!”), a couple of ground level seats, and a tic-tac-toe animal activity panel. I could almost see his sigh of relief as the previous parks had all had impressive looking climbers, but no stairs and just generally too big and impossible for him.
There are a couple of baby and big swings and c’est tout.
Good enough for us, though my older son would have been bored.

This park was nothing spectacular, but it did sort of save our morning.
***Both little sections were on cedar wood chips. No sand here!
