Brazeau Park

Shade! Glorious shade! We really liked this park because of: the shade (obviously), the fun toddler equipment, and that it was like we were at a campground.
This little park is nestled on a quiet street (NOT on Brazeau, but around the corner on Rue des Semences.) It is fully shaded under a canopy of trees and the ground is a mixture of sand and soft evergreen needles.
There is a tiny parking lot, and then past the porta-pottie and water fountain, you’ll find the playground. There are baby and big swings, and equipment from Quebec-based Jambette including a big toddler climber, a 2-kid ride-on ant (though mine insisted it was a motorcycle), one of my new favourites: the little-kid Mosquito rope-climber, a sand digger, and a hiiiiiiiiigh stand-alone slide.

The climber is probably geared more towards toddlers than big kids and it’s fairly new, though was wet and covered in sand when we were there. Because of the amount of shade, it would be wise to bring a towel or lots of Kleenex as it probably takes a while for the equipment to dry off. There are stairs, though mine bypassed those in favour of the ladder and the rope ladder. He tried all the wet slides “WET. BUM!!!”, and played in the crawl tunnel and with the movable wall pieces. Underneath there is a puppet theatre (or restaurant in our case).

His other favourite equipment was the teepee shaped mosquito rope climber. They can climb all the sides or in the middle is a “floor” of ropes. He also thought the mosquito on the top was exciting.
I was the only one to do the tall slide as he went up a couple of steps, thought it was too high and backed down.
This was such a cozy and relaxing park and perfect for letting them putter around and explore.
There is no fencing, but there is the porta-pottie and fountain. This is second small park we’ve been to in Saint-Lazare with a seasonal bathroom. Brilliant!
