Centre de la nature – Cowansville

GENERAL NOTE FOR ALL BEACHES: For all information, rates (if applicable), reservation details, and more, make sure to visit the official website BEFORE going. Water quality, maximum capacities, and staffing issues change often and may affect openings.

Located on Lac Davignon just beside the adorable town of Cowansville, this giant park was the perfect pit stop on our way home from an overnight trip.

Someone in the car was feeling mighty carsick (it was me), so we came by this FREE park, played in the playground, sat on the beach, and had snacks*, and the big boys rented kayaks for a 30-minute tour of the lake. We weren’t a huge fan of the hard and rocky beach, but hey, it’s water, it was relaxing, and it was a great spot to stop for a while.
*Correction: I moaned while lying on the sand and watching the little collect rocks from the shallow water.

There is a TON of stuff to do here, including a large splash pad, the beach, all different kinds of boats to rent, spots to picnic, and a playground that’s good for toddlers and big kids. Here’s the whole list of amenities available:

– Two baseball fields
– Two lit clay tennis courts
– Two beach volleyball courts
– A basketball court
– Picnic tables all over, including under great shade
– Walking paths
– A skate park
– Water sport equipment rentals
– Outdoor fitness equipment
– Playground equipment
– Toys and games (like frisbees and balls) that you can borrow
– BMX sports bike trail
– A large outdoor shelter
– Dressing rooms and accessible toilets
– A canteen
