Coffee Park

Coffee Park. And guess what I didn’t have with me.
But I did have a cute and eager 2-year old who went bananas for this Kompan PIRATE themed climber!
This is a funny little park, in a little funny spot RIGHT beside the train tracks and just steps from the Montreal West train station. And it has some of the BEST equipment!
We always love the Kompan brand climbers because they’re original and interesting, but we’ve never seen this Ship & Castle Climber before. There is a ship’s wheel, “cannons” coming out of the walls, binoculars to search the seas, platform/stairs to climb, portholes and a hammock, slides, and a spiderweb rope wall to get from one platform to the other. One platform is easy to access with the steps, the other is more for older toddlers as there is just the twirly metal ladder and the ropes to get up.

In the surrounding sand are some Kompan ride-ons, four baby swings, and a 3-kid Kompan Blazer seesaw.
The play area is circled by benches and has fencing all along the road, but with no gates.

RIGHT beside the fenced off train tracks is the large big-kid climber by Miracle Recreation. There is a ton of stuff to climb, swing, slide, scale, and balance on. There are metal ladders and rungs, the 3-dimensional Gravity Diamond rope climber, the Wavy Wedge Wall Walker, different kinds of slides including the Big Timber and the Typhoon, and a rock climbing wall. All great fun for older kids but pretty much impossible for little guys!
There is a stand-up spinner and big-kid swings. Again, everything is on sand and there are benches around.
The rest of the park has picnic tables, a drinking fountain, and a (locked) chalet though there IS a porta-pottie outside.

So glad that we stopped here as it was a great surprise seeing some new things! My kids keep bugging me to take them on the train, this would be a GREAT destination instead of downtown. Just hop off at Montreal West, walk East along the platform and across Elmhurst Avenue and you’ll see the park on the north side of the tracks. There are coffee shops and Deps just north along Sherbrooke street or wander over to Westminster Avenue. If you are near the BACK of the train, Davies Park is located just across Westminster and is brand new. Lots of places to eat along Westminster just north of the tracks.
