de Deauville Park (Candiac)

The huge painted monarch who greeted us as we got out of the car was a lovely surprise! Candiac is the fifth city in Quebec to be designated a “Ville amie des monarques de la Fondation David Suzuki” and a certified Monarch Oasis, and has a beautiful butterfly garden and insect hotel towards the rear of the park.

Bring your hammock (there’s a stand to hang your own), sit a while in the huge adirondack chair, or just stroll around the garden and watch the flittering critters.

The splash pad here is adorable with a bright fireman theme. Even the bathroom building is painted and designed to resemble a fire station. So cute!

I’d say that the whole play area is for toddlers, with a great new-ish GameTime play structure on one side, a cable climber, a weird and ancient…thing, two baby swings (I thinkk the adult swing was missing/broken), and another small climber.

Things to note:
-There is no fencing around the play areas or splash pad
-Head to the back of the playground and there are some walking trails through the nearby forest.
-Street parking is available directly in front of the playground on Deauville.
