de la Rive-Boisée Park

We’d previously driven past this park, hoping to stop and play and take pictures, but it was during the summer when the pool was open and it was packed.
So early morning on a beautiful September day, we headed up this way again, and this time had the place to ourselves.

The park is edged by some funky new condo buildings, with more being built, and you can see how the park is geared towards both children AND adults.
There is a huge football/soccer field with a running track surrounding it. AND, the coolest adult, outdoor gym from Trekfit. Parallel bars, and push up bars, and much more; each with an accompanying board with instructions and diagrams. Had I any motivation, I would have tried some out. Seeing as I had none, we headed about 10 feet over to the kids’ playground.

There is a nice toddler climber by Little Tikes with steep stairs (he slipped coming down), a few slides, steering wheel, a bit of room to walk around, and a WORKING activity wall with moving gears.
There is another older climber with a metal slide and monkey bars, and beside that is a giant spiderweb.
Rounding it out are the big and baby swings. My almost 2 year old is now loving the weird Pierrefonds baby swings, which I find not so great for an infant, but they have really helped him to learn how to sit properly on a flat swing, without the danger of him falling off.
There are also some large stumps that he liked clomping on. GREAT SHADE.

THEN…..cross the street (at the crosswalk naturally, but of course no one will actually STOP for you…), and you’ll come to the other part of the park. There is a nice little wooded area that might be good for picnics and you can walk right down to the water. We threw some rocks, watched the ducks, and then had a heron fly by right in front of us!

Edited Fall 2015: According to Pierrefonds’ website, they were/are doing these improvements: – Repairs to the existing trail; – Development of an area for recreational boat activity.
