Donald Fletcher Park

After visiting the fantastic Richard Schwartz Park we had time for just one more before heading home. This one looked close by so we zoomed over, parked in the large lot, strolled past the basketball court and skate park, and came upon some fairly new climbers, both from Little Tikes Commercial.

“It’s like the fish park!” said the 7-year old about the orange and blue colour combo (he was talking about the giant fish climber at Walters Park in Dorval). There are two play structures, big and baby swings, and some balancing equipment including two skateboard/balance boards, and an XWave wobbly board/snake thing from Xccent Play.

Both climbers are pretty cool and both kids checked them out on their own. The toddler climber has great stairs, the Rocky Rambler which is a kind-of mountain climbing wall that is easy to walk up or down on, metal rungs and ladders, slides, and a steering wheel. And at ground level is the cutest little play house door.

The big kid climber is just beside and has the really cool triple Colossus Slide, an orange Infinity Flex climbing wall, and a whole bunch of other interesting and challenging ladders and rungs. Fun for big kids, but impossible for little ones to climb.

Everything is close together and on a sand base and there’s a cute little gazebo and benches nearby. It was blazing hot in the sand so we sat in the shade of the gazebo for a bit before heading home. There’s a little bit of fencing beside the road but it’s mostly open and on a busy street. There were quite a few daycare groups while we were there but curiously no one was playing in the playground, maybe because it was just so hot and the only shade is around the edge.
