Drummond Park

Another park that I’ve driven by a few times but hadn’t ventured in to visit.
There was more here than what can be seen from the street, and we ended up staying for longer than I’d intended!
We parked on Sussex Drive because Beaurepaire is buuuuusy.
There is fencing around the playground area but no gates to stop the runners. The hum of the highway and the passing cars are a bit unnerving, but we were here at 8:30ish on a weekday morning, so perhaps it’s quieter at other times of the day.

We started out on the big-kid climber from Miracle Recreation but there are no stairs so it’s a bit tricky for younger kids. My little one was able to climb the bongo steps to the smaller slide and then toddled off to sit on the spinner. There’s also a vertical rock-climbing wall, metal ladders and the moveable waffle wall that scares the bejesus out of me. We peeked at the cute critters on the underside of the Big Timber Hollow Log Slide and then puttered over to the toddler climber.

Also by Miracle, this one has no stairs, which is annoying for a structure geared towards small kids, and instead has a sloped climbing wall and metal rungs to access the platform, tic-tac-toe wall and slide.
There’s a separate spinning wheel, a ride-on frog, big and baby swings and everything is all in the same sand area.
The cute thing here is the large gazebo. It’s clean-ish, there are benches inside and it would be great to use on those rainy days where you “just need to get out of the house!!!”

There was a bit of shade while we were here in the early morning and there are trees surrounding the play areas which should make for some shade on hot & sunny days.
