Located in the Chomedey district of Laval, Parc du Sablon offers a fully-fenced and gated playground, soccer fields, basketball court, three tennis courts, as well as a wooded area with TrekFit outdoor gym equipment located along the trails.
Located at the back of the Centre du Sablon Sports, Community, and Cultural Centre is the Sablon Vert, which is a small network of trails within about two acres of woods. The trails here are NOT stroller-friendly, actually, they were hardly even on-foot-friendly with tons of rocks and roots and branches blocking the way. It looks like it’s also a great teen hangout as we had to manoeuver around lots of beer bottles and cans to get to the TrekFit equipment.
The playground is quite cute and has two play structures from Kompan, both with stairs! The toddler one is super easy to get up with two little slides. The larger structure has stairs, or use the corkscrew climber or climbing wall to get to the slide. There are also two adult and two baby swings, and one spring rider. It’s all on sand and is safely fenced and gated.
Things to note:
-The tennis courts are near Avenue Clarendon and 4e Rue, while the playground is on the opposite side along Rue Bennett.
-Street parking is available on Rue Bennet.
-A drinking fountain is near the soccer fields.
-Tennis courts are available from 9am-11pm from early May until the end of October.
-There is a porta-potty located right near the tennis courts.
