Guillaume-Gamelin-Gaucher Park

It’s Christmas in July!
This park by Tessier Récréo-Parc and with equipment from GameTime was THE. CUTEST. I love that there was a plan when they designed this playground. Everything is nicely placed with both toddler and big-kid areas within sight of each other, and little hills and mature trees surrounding it all. The tree theme is carried throughout and it’s interesting and fun.
Loved, loved the little pine trees  in the climber canopies, more interesting than the stylized sails we keep seeing.

The toddler climber has lots of ways up and lots of ways down. There are ladders, a small rock climbing wall, stairs, a bridge, a high twirly slide, a bumpy slide, and normal slides. Phew!
In the same little area is a little leaf seat and large Chrysalis spinner
Then just across the path is the larger climber that is equally colourful and fun. No stairs but we climbed the circular leaf staircase, came down the slide and then played on the “tree branches“. You can climb those or the metal ladder to get to another slide.
There are big swings and some plastic boulders.
Just behind the playground area is a little greenspace with what looks to be a mini sledding hill in winter. There is NO fencing but there was good shade over some of the play areas.

But you know what is missing entirely? Baby swings! There are none.

Also, we’re just going to call this “The Christmas Tree Park” because Guillaume-Gamelin-Gaucher  is juuuuuuuust a little too long. But if you’re interested in knowing who the park is named after, you can find the info HERE
