Hampstead Park

What a lovely (giant) park.

There’s a whole lot of activity going on here: Swimming pool and splash pad($), a good playground on accessible flooring, walking trails, outdoor fitness equipment, tennis, baseball, soccer, beach volleyball, a dog park, the Irving L. Adessky Community Centre,  and for winter there’s a small sledding hill and two hockey rinks. Whew! Did I miss anything? Probably.

The playground here is quite interesting, and most of it is on accessible flooring (not rubber, but a carpeted/artificial turf). You’ll find two play structures, the smaller with easy-to-climb stairs, slides, and steering wheels; while the larger structure also has stairs, slides, a bridge, and various ladders. Nearby are baby swings and an adaptive swing (no harness), and a raised sandbox.
On wood chips are adult swings, a large wobbly balance beam, a cool rope spinner/climber, and a modern rope obstacle course climber for older kids.
There are also benches and picnic tables nearby.

We puttered around, wandered along the paths, watched some people working out, and gazed through the fencing at the neat-looking splash pad and pool. It was early in the season so our pictures of the pool aren’t too pretty, but look online and you’ll see some 🙂

Things to note:
-The splash pad is within the pool complex and not accessible to the public.  You can find all the info HERE
-The playground is not fenced.
-Parking is available along the road, or in the parking lot on Rue Hampstead.
