Hayward Park

This park was a conundrum. It’s got a cute toddler play structure, then an ancient falling over big-kid climber; an older splash pad (more a lone fountain), and then the fancy new refrigerated Bleu Blanc Bouge rink.

So, it’s a little bit of everything.

The toddler area, which is partially fenced, has a small older climber, eight baby swings, a cute ant spring rider, and a large and intricate play structure from Jambette. With a ground-level “space ship”, pods to balance across, stairs, musical chimes, a spiderweb to climb and slides, there’s a lot to do. This whole area is on sand and is fenced by the road, but open to the rest of the park. There are some benches and a picnic table nearby.
Just past the tennis courts is the section for older kids. Which I suspect will be redone sometime soon. This older climber is on a wild slant as half is sinking into the ground, and has rusty edges where the protective cover has come off the metal. Luckily the attached cable climber is ok.
Past the adult swings is the splash pad. Touch the sensor on the big blue doodad and the water will turn on. It’s essentially a fountain but will still cool you off on hot days!

Things to note:
-The splash pad is open daily from 8am-8pm. You can read the seasonal schedule for both the splash pad and pool HERE
-For skating info for the refrigerated Bleu Blanc Bouge rink, you can go HERE. You can also read more about the program HERE
-I parked on Rue Centrale. Please drive slowly around the park as there is a school right across from the pool.
-Bathrooms should be available when the pool/skating rink is open. But when we visited in early September everything was locked.
