Ivan-Franko Park

Rain rain go away…
April showers bring…May showers? In a small lull in a downpour, we hopped out of the car and had a quick 5 minutes of playing at this little toddler park in Lachine. Just a couple of years old, this new-ish playground is shiny and has some good equipment for little people.
The pirate-themed Kompan play structure has easy to climb stairs, two little slides, and a “cannon”. While in the surrounding wood chips is a nauseating bowl spinner (blargh), a mini hammock seat and a sit or stand spinner. While we were there too early in the season to try them, there are usually two baby swings.
It’s little, it’s cute, it’s just the right size for itty-bitties. Note that while the playground is safely fenced, there are NO gates on the two openings. For some reason Lachine isn’t so keen on gates for their parks…
The rest of the park area has some picnic tables and a small fountain(?) with modern art that took some explaining.
“It’s like, a map. Or a symbol of our lost youth. You know what? Art is whatever you want it to be!”
“What?”
And then it started to rain again.
