Jack Robinson Park

Awwwww, our “home” park when we were kids. Also known as Jefferson Park or Little Rock Park. I remember the old wooden play structure in which we all carved our initials. That’s long gone and this park underwent a total makeover in 2012 so ALL the equipment, fencing and benches are almost new.
There’s a fully-fenced and gated toddler park (but be careful, the maintenance access gate was unlocked and open when we were there). Inside the fencing is a Jambette play structure with toddler-safe stairs, double slides, a tensile rope ladder, binoculars, and a tic-tac-toe wall. While the climber and baby swings are on wood chips, there’s also a sand section with a couple of lily pad stools/tables. Because of the towering trees, there’s been great shade at whatever time we’ve visited.

Just down the path is the separate big-kid play area with an itty-bitty play structure with a ladder, climbing wall with rope and a slide; a rope spiderweb climber and big swings. Everything here is on wood chips.
The park is in a quiet residential area, with no stores nearby, and is a great spot if you need some alone time.

Curious recollection: Jack Robinson lived down the street and was a long time Pointe Claire councillor. I remember he would always come by at Christmas and bring my parents a block of cheese as well as good wishes for the coming year. It was nice to see the park named in his honour 🙂

****follow up visit! We came again but this time in the afternoon on a sunny day. Still really nice shade over the toddler area and over the grassy parts and a lovely breeze. I also decided that this toddler climber has both the safest stairs up and the best slides coming down (for speed and length). Just have to watch the two openings on the platforms. The slides gave the little one a big confidence boost as they were not scary. This park is also really, really peaceful and quiet. We stayed almost two hours and everyone played quietly without any face shoving or sand throwing. Our Zen park?
