Lucie-Bruneau Park

Ooooooo. This is a fantastic multigenerational park.
I figured the playground would be super busy during the day, so we visited ridiculously early in the morning, and the park was already buzzing with activity. That’s a sign of a good park!
From dogs and their owners in the newly redone dog park, to people of all ages running and walking the huge athletic track, adults working out on the new fitness equipment, and a couple of young teens trying out the funky playground equipment.

With a ton of renovations done throughout, the park reopened in late 2017 with: a new chalet reception area, the dog park repaired, new fitness equipment, a large swing with universal accessibility, repairs to the baseball fields, new furnishings, a volleyball court, as well as brand new playgrounds.
The park also has soccer, tennis, pétanque, basketball, a swimming and wading pool, a community garden, and an ice rink and skating oval in the winter.

Even with all of that awesomeness, it’s the playground that drew us here.
Brand new, there’s a great toddler area, and just beside is the section geared towards older kids that has a weird and modern play structure.

From Landscape Structures, this Venti® HDG will appeal to a wide variety of ages with its ropes, nets, rubber ramps, overhead rungs and ladders, and slides. You could do a pretty fun obstacle course here. This was also our first time seeing this new product and it’s really neat and original 🙂
Nearby are adult swings and an adaptive swing.
Just steps across the path, is the toddler structure with stairs, slides, a bridge, the mini mountain climber, and small monkey bars. Spin a bit in the saddle spinners, and climb aboard the Wee Planet™ Climber
You’ll also find the amazing tandem Expression Swing, baby swings, and another adaptive swing.
Both playgrounds are on wood chips, with a little sand box beside the toddler zone.

Things to note:
-There is a large parking lot on Avenue de l’Alsace.
-The playground has some fencing along the parking lot, but is basically open.
-For info about the park’s pool and wading pool, please click HERE. The adjoining renovated chalet has bathrooms available. The entrance in near the playground.
-Picnic tables, benches, and a wheelchair-accessible swing are located just beside the playground.
