Marlborough Park

It was just me and the littlest one on a tour of Saint-Laurent on a hot and hazy morning in August, and we were pretty excited to see the interesting, new-ish, and space-y play structure as we drove up.

There’s just a bit of fencing near the road, but the rest of the playground is open to the park and street. It’s all on sand, which is kind of unfortunate because the toddler structure has some GREAT ground level activities that would have been amazing if they were accessible to all. As in: This structure should be on a rubber base to make it wheelchair-friendly!
This is the first time we’ve seen this design from Landscape Structures Weevos® line. The little guy loved the mini bridge, the working musical chimes, the fun mirror that turns, the Giggle Jiggler® Climber, the little slide with steps, the wall of spinning marbles, the stepping stones and drums. It’s nice that nothing is too high and he didn’t need any help (“NO HELP MOMMY!”) to try out everything. There are also some ride-on toys and baby swings in this section.

Up some concrete steps and near the road is the big-kid climber. There aren’t any stairs, but all sorts of ladders and monkey bars and rings, three different slides, a climbing wall, and lots of platforms at different heights. I climbed it on my own, and it was pretty cool. Shorty just looked at me from below 🙂
There’s an interesting teeter-totter, big-kid swings, and a Spinneround by Elephant Play

We wandered past some picnic tables to the decorative fountain and art installation (he called it a “claw”), past the bocce courts, saw the basketball and tennis courts (very pretty btw), and then peered through the fence at the fun looking wading pool and the deserted splash pad. We were unfortunately too early to use them (you can check out the opening hours HERE).
The splash pad looks interesting with a high spinning wheel, arcs to run through and jets to steer. And concrete lounge chairs! Oooooooh 🙂
