Millennium Park

After visiting Dorval Park across the street, we trotted carefully across Lakeshore Avenue, past the teensy-tiny half circle of parking, and through the archways to this large park.

I’ve driven past here probably a hundred times over the last couple decades (that’s kind of a shocking realization that I’ve been driving for DECADES!) but have never explored the area.
So the little one and I were pretty surprised to find a .6km walking/running track, an entire outdoor exercise equipment circuit, and some great views of the water.

The LifeTrail® Advanced Wellness System from Playworld (also the makers of awesome and creative playground equipment) is geared towards “older, active adults” which probably means seniors, but I was all “I’m an older, active adult!”
There was not a single person using any of the 6 multi-sided stations along the trail so we stopped at each one and I answered 37 million questions.
“What do you do here?”
“Why is dis table here? For naps?”
“Why are dere stairs? THEY DON’T GO ANYWHERE! HAHAHA!”

Two of the stations are on a poured rubber base and are wheelchair accessible and designed to meet ADA guidelines. Each station has multiple exercises on the different sides of the panel and are divided into Basic, Intermediate and Advanced.

Do some exercise in the large grassed area in the centre of the track (or lie down and stare at the clouds), relax on the benches or tables near the water, or bring a book and sit on the swing in the covered gazebo.

This park is also the site of Dorval’s Canada Day and St. Jean festivities as well as events throughout the year. You can also reserve the gazebo for wedding pictures etc.

p.s. We’d just come from the Fire Station Open House, which is why my toddler was way overdressed for the weather.
“Honey, are you hot? Do you want to take off your uniform?”
“NO! I’m a FIREMAN! Dat is my job.”
Toddlers are so curiously bizarre.
