Northview Park

I think we could have stayed in the toddler section all day. Tons of shade, cedar chip base, some really interesting play structures (is it a house? Is it a truck? It’s both!!), fully-fenced and gated, and a ground level Bubble Fish by Jambette complete with levers and dials, and that they didn’t need mom’s help to get into.
The super cool house/truck thingy-doo by Kompan (such a creative company!) is intricate and interesting, but has no stairs, though there is place to play underneath. Both boys enjoyed either climbing up the slanted wall up to the slide, scaling the twirly metal ladder, and playing house underneath. And then we played “garbage truck” and I got to drive while they ran around collecting wood chips and throwing them through the wheel wells. “Back on the truck, NEXT HOUSE!”
There are a couple of spring riders, one by Kompan and one from Go-Elan, baby swings, and the only sand area has a sand table, little bench and Landscapes Structures Image Panel with a wall of coloured wheels to turn.

The adjacent Viking pool is buuuusy and when we walked over to the big-kid park I had to clean up soda cans, plates with ketchup and freezie wrappers from the playground before we could play. More garbage cans needed? Better manners needed?
The little one was content to sit on the floor of the spinning spider web while the big one scaled the super tall play structure. It has stairs part of the way, then harder to reach platforms to the slide. There are also sky wheels, swinging balance pods, and a climbing wall with hand and foot holds. All the equipment, including the swings in on wood chips.
If you have one kid in each section, you won’t be able to see both as they’re a bit away from each other and down a path.
There is one adaptive swing (no harness) in the big-kid park as well as a basketball net on a mini-mini court.
Hallelujah, the chalet was open when we were there and has public bathrooms and a water fountain.

***follow up visit Summer 2015! Last time we visited at 4pm (lots of shade), and this time we visited at 10am. Still almost fully covered. Hooray! Again we had a great time here and both boys played on the toddler climber (wish it had stairs like the similar one at St-Charles park in Dorval), and we spun around in the spiderweb in the big park.
