Paiement Park

EDITED 2023: This park will be getting all new equipment in 2024.

EDITED 2018: This park got a mini makeover since we last visited in 2015. The older metal spring riders and the sand shovel have been removed and replaced with three cute spring riders, the basketball court was completely redone (and is lovely!), and two bright picnic tables were added. The playground is also now all on wood chips instead of sand.

Here’s the park in 2015:

And now:
This park is hidden behind a sound wall just off Chemin St. Marie and you can access it by Place Baron, or Place Smiley which is even closer to the actual play equipment.
Even with the sound barrier blocking the highway, it’s REALLY loud and not exactly quiet, though the park itself is relatively calm.

This park has a funny long layout with paved paths and some greenspace on one end, and the basketball court and playground on the other. The path would be GREAT for those just learning to ride their bikes, or for doing some inline skating.
The play structures, new spring riders, and swings are all together in the same section, making it easy to supervise kids of all ages.
The toddler climber is ok, with stairs, a crawl tunnel (full of water when we were there), multiple slides and some wall panels including the pilot panel and the adorable ground level Space Travel panel (that didn’t work very well).
There is also only ONE big swing, and ONE baby swing on a grubby old post.
The large climber is accessible by a climbing wall with rope or a metal corkscrew ladder. There are slides, sky wheels and swinging stepping stones.
There is NO shade over any of the play equipment, but there are a couple of big trees around the edge, with a picnic table under one.

It wasn’t the most exciting playground, and while the new spring riders are a good start, both play structures need to be replaced soon, and some more swings added.
