Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse

Not a conventional playground but a beautiful, giant nature park in the middle(?), middle-ish of the island. Great for days where you need to GET THE HELL OUT OF THE HOUSE, but don’t want to chase a toddler around a playground.
We parked at the “des champs” parking lot just off of Henri-Bourassa and up Rue Douglas B. Floreani. You can punch 3555 Douglas-B-Floreani into the GPS.
There is a pay parking lot ($7.75 for two hours or $9.75 for the day) Check out info here:
Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse. Many people avoid the fee and just park on the street in front of L’Oreal.

This is another place I’d never heard of until a couple of years ago when someone mentioned it to me and I was like “WHAT big park??” We were then a family of three and took the bigger one there in the Ergo carrier and wandered around. Beautiful!
We’ve since visited multiple times to walk, bike, and enjoy the wildlife that lives in the park. Explore the elevated walkway of the Bois Franc sector, or meander across the Passerelle des Champs. It’s all lovely!

Note that some of the trails are shared with bikes, while others are only for walking. Depending on what trails you travel, some are fine with strollers, while others will be a whole lot easier with a back carrier.

Things to bring: Water, snacks, bug spray, more snacks, bandaids (always!), binoculars, and a cell phone so you can check the map.

There are events going on throughout the year and the park is open in the winter for guided twilight walks, “Les après-midis colorés”, spring break camps, sledding, cross-country skiing, and tobogganing. You can also rent skis, sleds, and snowshoes at the chalet d’accueil des Champs. It’s also one of the training sites for Cardio Plein Air which has the popular Cardio-Poussette.
Find the summer map of the park HERE.
