Prévost, Québec – Val-des-Monts Park

We’d been puttering around in the Laurentians for the day, and while on a detour through the charming town of Prévost we saw this park.
“Stop the car!”

The town of Prévost has more than 25 parks and greenspaces, and a look at their park website shows some really interesting and fun looking playgrounds.
We only had time for Parc Val-des-Monts, but there was enough here to satisfy all the kiddos. Fully fenced AND gated, there are benches and picnic tables and all the equipment is in the same area with good sight lines all around.

There are two play structures by Jambette. One for the toddler-5 year olds, and the other for 5-12.
The large climber has cute “foot” stairs, a couple of ladders, an easy-to-cross bridge (not too steep), a tic-tac-toe wall and a couple of slides. In the surrounding sand are some old school teeter-totters, and a stand-up bouncer (also by Jambette).

Past the big and baby swings is the toddler climber which features an easy-climb staircase with safe railings, a tunnel and ledge at ground level, tandem slides, an abacus wall, and a couple of steering wheels. There’s another standing bouncer here as well as a “boot” spring rider
While the little one wandered around, the big boys took turns trying to make each other puke on the merry-go-round. Just watching them made me feel queasy.
It was a nice little pit stop, and we’ll know what town to hit up for some cool playgrounds next time we’re up this way!
