Roxboro Park

Note: This park is also called Parc des Bénévoles.
It’s shiny! It’s almost new! It has rubber flooring!

Completely redone in 2014 (you can read about it HERE) there are three separate sections with equipment by GameTime and Landscape Structures and include:
-The kinda-baby section with swings, the most creative teeter-totter ever, and some unique “log” benches for the grownups. (This is on sand)

-Next door is the 18 months-5 years climber (also on sand). There is a nice staircase, three slides including the cute Rumble and Roll Zip Slide, an easy to climb slanted bridge, and a mini rock-climbing wall. Older kids can also climb the metal ladders and rungs. I like that they’ve placed a trio of picnic tables right next to the climber and between the toddler and big-kid park. Note that one of the picnic tables is wheelchair accessible.

-Then there is the 5+ section. Amazing. Love the rubber base that is so clean and easy to walk on. The climber from Landscape Structures is expansive and a climber’s paradise. There are stairs, but there was not too much for the little one to do, and there are many drop-offs. There are walls to scale, monkey bars, a spiderweb net to crawl up and across, multiple slides, a climbing wall, and stand-up spinners.
On this side there are also big swings AND an adaptive swing. And while the whole area is wheelchair accessible, there’s not a whole lot to do. Or rather, anything. Some ground level interactive play panels would be great for everyone.

There’s a very busy tennis court right beside the playground, and we walked down to the clubhouse and found the clean and working water fountain.

Note: While at the park we waited about 45 minutes for a huge daycare group to be done so we could take pictures of the equipment. Not that it was bad to wait because of course we played, just a note that it may sometimes be very busy.

It was nice to see a smartly designed, new park. Well done Roxboro!
