St. Isidore, Ontario

I can’t remember how I heard about this park, I think it was last year when I was google-ing “splash pads ontario”, but this is another small Eastern Ontario town with a great playground AND a splash pad.
About 5 minutes north of Highway 417 (exit 51) and half way between Ontario and Montreal, you’ll find this park just behind St. Isidore’s Recreation Centre. There’s baseball, hockey, basketball, skateboarding, the NEW splash pad, and a really fun playground.

There’s no fencing, and while it is a quiet location, the play equipment is fairly close to the road and the small parking lot. The play structures here aren’t on sand, or wood chips, or even rubber; but on small stones. 
There isn’t much shade at all except for under a few trees in the grass where there are also a couple of picnic tables. 
While we were there at the same time as a summer camp, there is lots of room and equipment on which to play. 
My toddler LOVED the jeep. He spent almost the whole time in it, climbing around, sitting in the front, sitting in the trunk, and driving!
There is also a small plastic Little Tykes climber that is perfect for the young kids, a ride-on dinosaur, a stand-alone slide with a steep ladder, a break-your-teeth wobble teeter-totter, and a pretty impressive big-kid climber. 
The large climber from Little Tikes Commercial has metal ladders and rungs, some scary (for me!) through the air metal steps, a high-up bridge, monkey bars, the Infinity Flex Double Climber and slides. One section has a staircase and leads to a slide but to access the rest is a bit more challenging. 
The splash pad by Vortex is new and has rings to run through, the Three Bells dumping buckets, and umbrella fountains. Super fun and so nice to find in a fairly small town. 
We stayed quite a while as we couldn’t pry the toddler out of the jeep!
If every you’re travelling to/from Ottawa and the kids are losing their minds, this is a great place for a pit stop 🙂
