William-Bowie Park

Ooooooooo, two great climbers that both kids really liked. Win!
This playground has a super tall and challenging big-kid climber from Miracle Recreation that is bigger and more…..imposing than it appears in the pictures! To access the super-twirly Typhoon slide and the tall slide you can use the steep rock climbing wall, and metal ladders. There are two small staircases once you get up, but it’s hard to actually get there! There are also swinging steps, sky wheels, monkey bars, a moveable waffle wall, the petrifying Hula Climber and another hand and foot hold wall. Lots to do for older kids but next to impossible for younger ones.

Thankfully the little ones have a great Kompan climber just on the other side of the park, and it’s close enough, and open enough that you could watch your older kids while playing on this side. This is one of our favourite toddler play structures as it is good for the littlest ones, and those who want to practice their climbing skills. The climber is divided in two and connected by a rope wall. One side has wide platform stairs, while the other side has a mini rock climbing wall. There are binoculars, a ground level steering wheel and hammock, slides, mini ladders, and a megaphone. There’s also lots to touch and explore. In the surrounding sand are a few individual spring riders as well as a 3-kid Blazer seesaw and Kompan’s little Navigator “boat”.
Like the big-kid park, it’s all on sand and there is even a sandbox (?) in the middle courtyard between the two areas. It is partially fenced but with some big, wide openings.
There are also a whole bunch of baby and big swings with two more big swings right beside the toddler park.  (The caution tape in the photos is just because they were trimming some trees).

When we visited the chalet was locked but there was an unlocked porta-pottie. There’s some good shade around the swings but not so much over the play equipment.
This is a great playground if you have little ones AND older kids who want a challenge.
