Rosemère – Charbonneau Park

Thanks to all the people who told me about this park!

We were (not) in the area, and decided to come here for a visit, and after seeing all the beautiful houses and properties I think I’m also going to move here. *DROOL*

Located beside the police station, city hall, arena, and ecocentre; this park is in the heart of the action and hosts activities and events throughout the year. You can leave your car beside city hall, have a look at the Place des jeunes with its new skatepark and basketball court, wander around and past the beautiful pond with its myriad of ducks and swans(!), and then walk south where you’ll find the soccer fields, beach volleyball, and winter sledding and skating

And of course, there’s also the almost-new playground, shaded seating area, and splash pad! The playground has super fun and modern equipment from GameTime, including a great rope climber that will get kids moving, a tall slide, twirling spinner, and a spinning Sensory Seat. The toddler climber has stairs and different sizes of slides, the Sensory Wave Climber with its different activity panels, and various climbers and monkey bars.

There are fun stools to sit on nearby, use the shaded picnic tables, or lounge in the comfy chairs beside the splash pad. It was freezing when we visited, so nobody wanted to go in the water, but I noticed some in-ground lighting, so if you can, try and come on a hot evening to see everything lit up!

Walk under the tall trees (great spot for a picnic), and you can *almost* go up to the water’s edge. There is currently temporary fencing blocking it off, perhaps to prevent erosion after the wild spring flooding that was all along the Rivière-des-Mille-Îles. There’s also an older play area here with a climber and swings, and I predict that no one will ever play here again!

Things to note-
-It is VERY important to note that there is ICE CREAM at Délices Glacés on Chemin de la Grande-Côte, directly across from the skatepark.
-According to the city’s Facebook page, the splash pad water is on from 7am-9pm. Touch the sensor to start the water sequence.
-Porta-potties are installed near the water, and there is also a building with bathrooms right near the playground.
-The play areas are not fenced.
-There are also parking spaces right in front of the playground.
