Armitage Park (Deux Montagnes)

The boys went off on their own to this park and came back with limited info (sigh), so here goes…

Inaugurated in 2021, this new park sits on what was formerly a green space with adjoining pétanque and lawn bowling. It’s since been completely redone into a playground and splash pad, with apparently more work to come including a volleyball court (with lights). There was some work going on right beside the splash pad when they visited at the end of August so that’s maybe volleyball?

The new playground includes an awesome Kompan Robinia wood ship — the first one installed in Quebec — a smaller boat for little guys, a spring rider and spinner, and a cute playhouse. I love hills and here you’ll find a tall slide set into a hill with boulders or grass to climb up. It seems to be getting a lot of action as the soil around it is running down into the play space. Hmmm.

Right beside the play area you’ll find a lovely splash pad that carries over the nautical theme. There are water cannons, ground sprays, and a spinning water feature. Nearby parents and kids can chill out on lounge chairs, benches, and a shaded picnic table.

Things to note:
-The splash pad should be on from 9am-9pm. Touch the sensor on top of the post to start the water.
I’d read that there was going to be fencing added in mid-July but it doesn’t look like it’s been installed yet. UPDATE: It’s been installed and is apparently much safer now.
-There’s a small parking lot beside the park.
-The flooring is poured-in-place rubber.
-This park is apparently usually VERY busy.
