Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park

I’ve been to this area before but had never heard of this lake up on the mountain. Just a 5 minute drive from the Glenora ferry landing, it was SO STRANGE to stand and look down below at the Bay of Quinte and also be standing beside a lake.
This is a teeny, tiny Provincial Park with some greenspace, benches and picnic tables, a parking lot, and across the street is the actual lake with a wheelchair accessible wooden lookout and information panels. The panels are interesting to read as how this lake within a mountain was formed has stumped scientists.
There are bathrooms just beside the parking lot.

We were only 5 minutes from the County Cider Company so we continued down County Road 7 to Bongards Crossroad in Waupoos and had a walk around the beautiful orchards overlooking Smith Bay and Lake Ontario. The view is STUNNING. Of course we left with some liquid souvenirs 🙂
