Run to the woods!
The adjacent woods are the only place you’ll find shade here except for a bit around the edges of the play areas.
I didn’t like this playground. Neither did the kids. We’d just left a shiny new park and this one just felt like a letdown. Old, worn, filthy (or broken) equipment, no shade, two totally separate playgrounds with no sight lines, and a hard to climb big-kid structure.
In the toddler section you’ll find a climber from Landscape Structures, with stairs, the Cozy Climber, couple of slides, a wire crawl tunnel, a graffiti covered mirror, and the Pilot Panel missing BOTH steering wheels.
Hmph.
In the surrounding sand are some older model spring riders from Kompan including the Hen, Turtle and a (wooden) Albatross seesaw. Four baby swings and there’s also a splintery little…house? and a small rope wall climber.
Surrounding the sand are some benches, which were in the shade!
Walk east down the little path, and you’ll get to the section geared towards older kids. Here you’ll find a couple of picnic tables, four big-kid swings and another climber from Landscape Structures. No stairs on this one and the ladders and rungs to reach the slides are quite challenging. There’s also a teepee-shaped rope climber set in the sand.
No fencing, though neither playground is too close to the road.
