Another (almost) new park in Pointe Claire. Fully-fenced and gated toddler area on sand with a ride-on ladybug by Kompan, a small Jambette climber and baby swings. The separate big kid area has a climber (no stairs), swings and is on a wood chip base. It’s easy to watch kids on both sides, which makes for less running and neck-craning!
What I don’t like here, though it didn’t stop us from visiting again, is that the “toddler” climber is quite high off the ground, has no stairs and only a tiny platform. My little one needed tons of help climbing the 4-runged ladder and then I had to stand guard to make sure he didn’t tumble out the opening. He LOVED that at the top are three steering wheels and underneath at ground level is a puppet theatre, which also doubles as a drive through window for selling me sand “smoothies”.
The large climber by Game Time has a bubble wall to climb, metal rungs and ladders, a twisty slide, and underneath are a couple of stools and a small table. Perfect to play the drums on! Despite there not being any way he could access the platforms and the slide, he happily banged around underneath.
Coffee. Sweet, sweet coffee can be found one block south on Donegani at new bakery L’Arôme Du Matin Boulangerie Artisanale (Cannoli!) or just across the street at Crème Fraîche Cupcakes which also has wraps, sandwiches, and fancy coffees.
There’s also British foods at The Bramble House or pick up a popsicle for yourself and the littles at Dépanneur R&R.
Side note: The toddler climber states that the “capacité d’enfants” is 17. Really?!? That seems fairly impossible. Ha!
