Charles-S.-Campbell Park

Hmmm, this park was a conundrum.
It’s got a great new toddler playground, with adorable equipment, and is fully fenced and gated making for a super safe play space in this busy area. There are GORGEOUS gardens throughout, lots of benches and picnic tables and some cool sculptural pieces. But, there were also about 20 people sleeping in different parts of the park. Including on the benches in the playground.
NO ONE bothered us, and there were lots of people going through the park walking their dogs, and people reading, but just letting people know so I don’t get cranky messages. It’s downtown, it’s kind of a reality that people may be sleeping in the parks.

So, the playground. It’s really quite cute with a few toddler-friendly Kompan products. There’s the Garden Seesaw which can seat a whack of kids, and is also fun to stand on; a horse spring rider; a stand/sit spinner; the giraffe/forest Safari which has things to touch and turn and climb; and a small climbing structure with ropes, easy-to-climb platforms, binoculars, and a slide. It’s all great for even the littlest people. (Confirmed by a local resident that the bathrooms are NOT open to the public)

Things to note:
-There are no swings at all at this park.
-Everything in on wood chips.
-The playground is fully fenced AND gated with picnic tables and benches within the fencing.
-There’s a chalet with bathrooms, but I didn’t check to see if it was open.
