After a busy, busy day visiting Upper Canada Village, we had dinner at the Water View Restaurant in nearby Long Sault, where an after dinner walk behind the building brought us to this lovely park with its animal-themed splash pad. I love when we inadvertently find something great!
With lots of green space, picnic tables and benches, it would also be a great spot for a picnic if you’re looking to stretch your legs on a long drive.
In the playground you’ll find an all ages play structure with stairs, ladders and slides. It’s on pea gravel, which is such a novelty for us as we never see it in Quebec. The kids loaded up their pockets with “special” rocks.
There are also a couple of beach volleyball courts, and nearby are baby swings, adult swings, and an adaptive swing.
The splash pad by Pointe-Claire based Vortex is just lovely and has animal water cannons, a tall spinning “sun”, trees, and tipping flowers. Benches surround the water area, and make sure to check out the super cute trash cans nearby! So creative.
Things to note:
-There are self-locking bathrooms located right beside the splash pad. Picture with the opening times is in the gallery .
-The splash pad is on from late May into September, daily from 10am-9pm.
-There’s a tiny wading pool here that is open to the public for a small fee. You can find details HERE under “Long Sault Wading Pool”
-There is limited shade over the play areas, but we found a nice spot under some trees.
-There is no fencing.
