These are the parks where my toddler lost his mind and scurried about chattering to himself. Also, he wouldn’t leave. Always a sign of a great park!
I tried to put ones from different parts of the city, but there are just some cities/boroughs that “get” toddlers more than others. LaSalle almost always has great toddler areas, and while Pointe-Claire doesn’t have a particular park that is outstanding for little ones, their section for kids ages 2-5 are *almost* all fenced and gated, which a lot of parents look for.
Note that the list is in no particular order.
Henri-Valade Park in Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie
Brand new in 2018, this park is fully fenced and gated, has multiple kinds of swings, adorable play houses with stairs, a sand box, and accessible surfacing.
la Renaissance Park in Lachine
A long-time favourite! Amazing play structures for toddlers including a cute play structure, ground-level activities, musical doodads, chubby pony spring riders, and a parent-powered CAROUSEL!
Pierre-Bédard Park in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
Colourful and whimsical, this playground has an adorable little path that runs the perimeter of the play area, so bring your tricycles!
Lawrence Park in LaSalle
This is one of the earlier parks that we visited, and came back again a few years later to see the beautiful new splash pad. And the kids still loved it! From the bus, to the play structure, and the little street signs, it’s just super cute.
Saint-Damase Park in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension
This park is ridiculously awesome. Besides this great play structure for toddlers, there’s also a section for kids 0-2, and an awesome big kid area. Also, a great splash pad! This park goes on ALL the favourite lists.
Leroux Park in LaSalle
It’s ridiculous. There’s so much stuff. The entire park, including the big-kid play area AND the wading pool is fenced and gated.
des Éclusiers Park in Beauharnois
This musically themed park just DELIGHTED my then-5-year old. He particularly loved the spinning sensory seat and the wave to climb. You’ll also find a tandem swing, and a super cute raised sand table.
Marroni Park in LaSalle
Almost brand new, this brightly-coloured park has the adorable jeep, music, cute spring riders, and the Expression tandem swing.
Baldwin Park in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal
Train, bus, play house, concrete animals, seesaws, music, climbing arch, spring riders, play structure……
Jeanne Mance Park in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal
New in 2016. I visited this park in the winter before it was even finished, and waited impatiently for it to open. And then…TADA! Playground amazing-ness. Besides the fantastic big-kid area with lots and lots of climbing ropes, there’s a creative and interesting fully fenced and gated toddler play area with some new-to-the-market products, a contour lines sand box (you have to see it), a WATER TABLE!, seesaws, musical instruments and lots more.
Philippe-Laheurte Park (part 2) in Saint-Laurent
This is the second playground in a very large, very awesome park. (There’s a link to part 1 in the post)
Besides the fantastic big-kid area, there’s the toddler section with this freaking amazing jeep. As well as some other cool products. But, a JEEP!
Bonaventure Park in Ville Marie
Weird and colourful pods built into a hill that’s perfect for rolling down?
Yes please!
Fair warning, there is NO shade here.
Harris Park in Saint-Laurent
Pirates! This is a great playground that’s fully fenced and gated AND a fully fenced and gated splash pad just beside.
There are great toddler products with some at ground level. A great park to bring your pirate hats!
Dalmany Park in LaSalle
ANOTHER park is LaSalle! Newly redone, the toddler section here is wonderful, there is a whole section with painted ground games (see the pics), and a new splash pad!
Luc Durand Park in Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie
Brand new in 2016 and ONLY for toddlers, this fully fenced and gated park is amazingly bright and has its own little splash pad right in the centre. It’s also located right next to the Bibliothèque Marc-Favreau so you can make it a whole outing.
Jean-Marie-Lamonde Park in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension
Brand new, and utterly adorable. Great for ages 0-2, 2-5, and 5-12!
Félix-Antoine-Savard Park in Ville-Marie

Olympique Park in Pincourt
This new play structure is full of delightful parts to touch, turn, and climb. Bring your marbles or little cars to race along the track at the top!
François-Vaillancourt Park in Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-
Castles, gallant steeds, bridges!
